We hope that your Festive season was everything that you wanted it to be!

We made a quick trip to Perth to spend Christmas with Lisa, Jason & Harvey. Harvey now being 2 ½ years old, understands and was so excited to see that Father Christmas drank his milk and ate his cookies. He was even more excited to see that the Reindeers also drank all their water as they had to come such a long way to deliver his presents…they must have been very thirsty!!

The joy that children bring to Christmas is priceless… their imagination, their dreams, their innocence is something that we as adults can learn so much from.

So how can we fulfill our dreams and use our imagination to go about what we want with total innocence and excitement?  Interesting question…as adults we put up so many barriers as to why we can’t do ‘this’ or ‘that’.

Travel is one of those things that we dream about. We imagine sailing on the high seas sipping a glass of champagne. The excitement of the experience is taking our breath away and we want to dance around like we were young children again!

Would you like to know what mine is?

Well, it is not travel related….however, the outcome will enable me to do more of the travel that I love to do!

So tell me more you’re asking….well let me share what has happened! Since April last year, I have been battling pain in my left leg. Conscious that I had a 340km Portugese Camino walk to do in August, I had various treatments to aid me as there was no other option but to go along with my group.

After walking 200kms, I had a fall which put a stop to the walking. I returned home still in pain and persevered until the pain was so bad that i ended up in tears, paralysed for a few minutes after trying to get up from the recliner!

Something had to be done! I finally succumbed to having X-rays and an ultrasound only to be told that I have to have not only one…but two hip replacements!!!! Merry Christmas Nilla!!!

After a couple of weeks to digest and get my head around all this, i can now let my imagination go to that place where I will have full movement of my legs! Something so simple as I have not been able to cross my legs…
Maybe soon I can fulfill my dream of being able to surf…or be that belly dancer shaking her hips with utter abandonment!!

Most importantly, I will be able to walk the French Camino with excitement and ease….knowing that I won’t be the last person in at the end of the day!

We are all very excited for 2019 and what it has in store for us. We are even more excited to seeing you in the office or chatting with you over the phone.

We have a lot of exciting things happening…one being more inhouse presentations planned…so watch this space!

All our clients that have used Backroads over the years have come back singing their praises! Backroads are a company that have been running unique small group coach tours, up to 18 passengers, which take you off-the-beaten-track. They have been running since 1986 and still have the same touring philosophy as they did back then. Nowadays, they include even more unique experiences and exciting destinations as well as a higher quality accommodation.

If you are interested in hearing more about the amazing Backroads tours, call and register your interest and we will notify you with the finer details.

Peace Of Mind? That’s Priceless!

Over the Christmas break it was so disappointing to hear that an online agency had closed down, leaving many travellers with no airline tickets which caused immense stress and totally disrupted their travel plans. One family had paid in excess of $8000 for tickets back to India to attend a family wedding! There was no one they could contact…

Having been in the industry for almost 40 years, the most important thing for me is relationships… whether it is with a supplier that we can call on if we need help; with our staff, and with our clients.

When I hear stories like what happen to Bestjet it makes relationship building even more important as we are here for you if things go wrong…if you would like to read about how this collapse of Bestjet has affected many…. click here…

This is why we make sure that you are covered by being part of ATAS, which gives us and you Peace of Mind…

Enough of what can go wrong, now just imagine sailing on a Mega Yacht, sipping that glass of champagne…look you can!

Windstar: 180° From Ordinary Cruising

Today we want to introduce you to the world of Windstar Yachts. These perfectly sized vessels flip the script on traditional cruising, leaving the crowds and commonplace behind.

The ships are beautiful, but the real beauty lies in how close they can get you to the kind of authentic, immersive experiences you’re looking for. With 148–310 guests, a Windstar ship is large enough to pamper, yet small enough to explore secluded coves and docks in the heart of charming villages, sparkling cities and remote islands.

Where Will The Wind Take You?

Windstar sails to more than 150 ports around the globe – too many to list here, so today we are turning toward the spectacular lands of fairy tales, magic light, Gaelic castles, breathtaking fjords, seaside cafés and idyllic islands – Northern Europe. A destination so extraordinary needs that special in-depth immersion that only a Windstar cruise can provide.
